The first collective photography exhibition for the f8 Consortium is entitled, "New Visions." Opening night is Saturday, April 24th, 2010 at 6 p.m. at the Menaul Fine Art Gallery (1750 Hercules Avenue, Clearwater, FL 33764; 727-726-7411). Refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
The exhibition title of "New Visions" represents the scope and features of the works contained, highlighted by HDR (high dynamic range) images. The idea of HDR (combining multiple exposures) dates back to 1850, however, the digital tools of recent times have opened the door to the widespread introduction of the HDR technique into digital photography.
We invite you to come and see for yourself just what contrasts and colors are possible with HDR photography, and its ability to make the ordinary seem ethereal.
The "New Visions" exhibition includes further photographic marvels, such as multiple subject capture in a single frame (known as multiplicity or sequence photography) and extends even to encapsule views of Japan.
All photographers will be present at the opening event to answer questions about the images and discuss the art of photography.
We look forward to meeting you on the 24th.
